Pencil signed by master artist H. Marshall Gardiner, on the mat, just under the right side of the image. The image measures approximately 6-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches; the overall size with matting and frame measures approximately 12 x 10 inches. A similar view can be seen on page 81 in the book "H. Marshall Gardiner's Nantucket Post Cards 1910-1940" by his daughter Geraldine Gardiner Salisbury. Overall condition is GREAT! The original frame shows just a little wear and the original mat has a little water stain at the bottom edge and a small tear which isn't very noticeable at all, but wanted to point it out for accuracy (see the 3rd image up from the last image; the tear is at the top of the stain at the lower left-corner, going in about a half-inch; it was hard to photograph as it lies flat and is really almost unnoticeable). I just had the glass professionally replaced with conservation glass with UV light blocking protection, as well as an archival-safe acid-free backing put on. This is better than the original glass, as the original glass these images were framed in have no UV protection, so this one is better protected from the sun. I tried to take lots of pictures in hopes I could get a better shot to show the true beauty of the image, but the pictures really don't do this great image justice! It's a real beauty; all ready to hang and enjoy! OUTSTANDING!
