Description
This is the ultimate in Lehman Brothers lucites. The beautiful 4.5-pound, 3"x3''x4.5" solid glass lucite is a "Big Deal Award" for Lehman Brothers' work on Chevron's ~$18 billion acquisition of Unocal in 2005. Big Deal Awards were the most coveted lucites among Lehman investment bankers, as they were only distributed internally to the teams that executed the very largest of deals. Bankers could go an entire career and complete many notable deals without executing a deal large enough to earn a Big Deal Award. This piece from Wall Street's heyday in 2005 is a reminder of the remarkable strength and prestige Lehman Brothers had achieved in just over a decade as an independent invvestment bank before its fateful and historic bankruptcy in September 2008.The text on the front of the lucite displays elegantly and simply the Lehman Brothers logo, the words "Big Deal Award," the name of the client, "Chevron Corporation" and the year of the transaction, 2005. A 3-dimensional globe sits at the center of the lucite. Except for the light text on the front surface and the globe in the center, the entire lucite is clear.
