Description
maxuta_id="011013" LETTER ONBOARD MIR TO A.VOLKOV FROM COSMONAUT KOVALENOK    Cosmonaut Alexander Volkov "space mail" collection The letter to A. Volkov (Soyuz TM-13/Mir) from cosmonaut Kovalenok This is a very interesting letter to cosmonaut Alexander Volkov (Soyuz TM-13/Mir) from cosmonaut Kovalenok, Star City. They were friends that time and knew each other very well. The cover and the letter have the stamps of Mir. Mr. Kovalenok writes to Mr. Volkov mostly about the news from Star City, visit to Volkov's family and some business. The text of the letter has a lot of concealed meanings. It looks like it was written as to be understandable for their both only, not for everybody. Maybe that was because of KGB control or because of "secret cosmonauts business" - stamping the flown paper things and selling them later. Close to the text translation: Sasha, hello! I just came back from the 7th Lunar congress from Berlin. Then I went to meet your family. Everything is Ok here, as it seems to me. From the cogress you will receive some thematic attributes from Valter and Gorg. I think you will like everything. Sasha, you're not novic at flying, that's why I would wish you good health and peace of mind. As for the questions of busines, you should better follow my pieces of advise. Ocean is huge, it has a lot of plankton, that means a lot of fish too. The more plankton - the more fishes, but "golden fishes", like in fairy tails, are not too many. That's why we should look after the ocean carefully and systematicaly. I will write you (at least I will try to) regulary, my letters will come with each "Progress". Please do not be lazy, put a couple of lines down for me. My kind regards to Sergey. Let her go away! Nov 6, 1991 P.S. Time does fly! On Nov 9, 1991 - the 14th anniversary, and again on Soyuz-25. Comments to the text: Sasha - pet name for Alexander (Volkov); Cosmonauts discuss some business questions using just hints like "ocean", "plankton" and "golden fishes". ...Let her go away!... - this phrase looks like the attempt to assuage S. Krikalev after misfortune in his private life. COA: Personally addressed certificate of authenticity from Mr. Volkov will be given to buyer according to wishes upon request. Happy buying!
