Volkov and S. Krikalev (Soyuz TM-13/Mir) from their friend and unlucky cosmonaut K.Veter (he was in prison that time!!!) This letter was sent to cosmonauts Alexander Volkov and Sergey Krikalev onboard Mir space station from their friend and unlucky cosmonaut Konstantin Veter who trained even before them as a cosmonaut, was a trainer for children yacht-club in Star City, made world tour alone on yacht, and then was slanded and condemned for "violation" (someone's special action against him), so, the letter was typed (not written!) in prison and signed by Mr. Veter. This letter is full of sad and irony. The cover and letter has Mir stamps. This is the most interesting letter from cosmonaut Alexander Volkov's collection because it was sent from prison where K. Veter was that time. This is the first letter from prison (and maybe the last one) in history of Soviet cosmonautics. It's typed on 2 sides of the list. One side is the history of K. Veter's "violation" and being a prisoner which begins with his description of his last yacht trip alone (!) abroad from Feodosia (Russian port on Black Sea) to Canaries Irelands. The history ends with "how he made sexual harassment" to one of the young girl who was in his yacht-club in Star City, and how he was condemned because of that. He asks the cosmonauts to solicit for him to Russian law-court. He was condemned for violation by mistake or by special action against him. The back side of the letter contains the "short list" of K. Veter's participations in different tests such as: - ground tests of Soyuz and Salyut; - sea tests of lunar spacecraft, Soyuz-T; - Soyuz spacecraft and spacesuits "Sokol" pressure chamber tests; - hydro-weightlessness tests for Salyut-Soyuz; - reliability of man during alone yacht trips; - etc. That's interesting detail for yachtsman - his surname Veter has the meaning in Russian: "wind". This is the first time in cosmonautics history when the prisoner send you his message, where he permits himself to offer you short but saturated history of his criminal "activity". Invited by R. Kastro (Sasha, you should remember that) I got to Canariess from Feodosia alone. The race was so difficult, that I even had not time to drink tea (I could not even release the steering-wheel). But in Las-Palmas I got luck - free ticket to go home and back in a month strongly (the ticket back was already taken for Nov 6, 1990) to continue the voyage to Cuba - Bermudans - Azoras - Canaries (as a "circle"). I did not have any currency, I lived on dry soups and water. This was just for being the participant of the future jorneys. I sacrificed all. While at home I put into practice Star City cup-tie regattas (Ruza: 100 km and 200 km), where my 3 guys passed the KMS sport standard. I had prolonged 7 visas and was preparing for my race to Cuba. But the day before that I was asked to come to police where I had to explain how I threatened to shoot down and violate the mother and daughter Ivanov (maybe Sasha remembers: their father was judged, degraded and turned out from Star City 5 years ago). The "authority" of the threat was attributed to me, in addition to the following - the written threat. Despite the handwriting was not mine, this delirium was attributed to me without any checking. And because I bacame a killer I had to have a gun. I gave them VOLUNTARILY my signal 15 mm "pen" (it came with me, I forget to leave it on the yacht) and received 6 months of Butyrka. Then "miracles" began: it turned out, that 4-5 years ago I made terrible debauch with my several young yachtwomen - I walked in front of them in pants only, I showed them 318 times my "secret organ" (the Ginnes record - one American did the same 297 times, but we are Russians, if only this thing we were the first). So, there were no hours that time free of my shows, my kisses, my attempts to undress them and to go to their beds. BUT! After all of that, for some reason they continued to make yacht trips with me many times, presented to me their photos with subscriptions like "To the best man we ever men in our 12". No more no less. Perhaps, that was the assessment for quality and quantity of my dissolute actions by the girls that time, those years. And they continued come to my studies and at hope up to the last days before slander!!! 3 days before the main slanderer Natasha Ivanova (she is 17 years old now) 2 evenings one after another was walking with me during 1 hour(!) each time, asked about my adventures in the ocean, and did not forget to ask about the currency. And I (how stupid of me!) boasted of aproximately like that: "Yes, of course, I had it. I distributed it to Spanish beggarly frontier guards." Then 3 days later Natasha's mother brought "my" threatening letter to our (which belongs to our city) special police. So, all began from that point. And they gave me 1,5 years of prison for my Russian "Ginnes record". And in Butyrka (I was placed to the camera where Felix Edmundovich escaped from!) one bald investigator let me know several times that it's easy to make me free for him! Just $5.000 and go to Cuba! I say, just $5.000 from my fabricated $300.000!!! And the freedom comes right away, and no convictions after that! But as it is the yacht and all my family savings will get lost. I prepared the yacht for my own money. He alluded to that! But, suddenly, something was broken with them. And they were drawn in quite far. Supreme court did not find a corpus delicti in my weapon and acquited me. They left my Ginnes record without any inspection, and then I received 10 months on probation. And then we understood that they were afraid of my things revision completely because they should be judged. Sasha, Serezha, we all ask you to apply to the Russian governing body for it's directions to Supreme court chairman about the revision of my things rest. K. Veter.
