Snyder's Treasures is pleased to offer An Original and Authentic Pre-Civil War Era 7.5 x 7.5 x 12 Inch LARGE MAIN MAST Section from 1851 Schooner Yacht AMERICA with COA This is the real deal! A short history of this famous racing ship, the winner of the Hundred Guinea Cup (now known as the America's Cup) on August 22, 1851. She would compete again in the America's Cup Race in the first race (following the initial win) for the America's Cup in 1870, coming in 4th place. More history of this ship, including name changes and owners and service as a blockade runner during the Civil War is here. This is a 1/8th wedge from a piece of the original 1851 main mast that was replaced because of rotting. It was made into a lamp and wired and rewired several times. The current fixture is broken (easily replaced) and the cord and plug are very old and need replacement as well. There is a brass plate identifying it shown below: The condition is near excellent overall per the image furnished. Shipping is $20.00 to US destinations. I have been in the business over 40 years and most collectors on the East Coast know me. I have been a Militaria Show promoter most of that time. I am a fair and honorable person.
