Description
This listing is for the 1964 "Blue Room" limited edition, numbered and artist signed print of the painting by artist Edward Lehman that was intended for the Presidential gift print for the White House staff by President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy. Here is a chance to complete your collection of Kennedy's gift prints. Artist Edward Lehman (1914-2000) painted the 1962 gift print for the Kennedy's "Red Room" (limited edition of 2000) as well as the 1963 gift print "Green Room" (limited edition of 2100). He was also asked to paint the 1964 gift print "Blue Room" (limited edition of 1000). Edward Lehman was asked by Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy to bring his finished painting of the "Blue Room" to the White House for her approval in August, 1963. He complied and during his visit President John Kennedy told him that the Blue Room was his favorite of the public rooms in the White House. This is a print of that painting he showed President and Mrs. Kennedy. Because of the tragic event on Nov. 22 1963, the print of the "Blue Room" was never presented to the White House Staff as had been planned. The 1963 "Green Room" was given out to the staff as planned as Mrs. Kennedy's Christmas gift to them even after President Kennedy's assassination. The 1962 and 1963 prints are highly sought after by Kennedy collectors, but here is your chance to add the 1964 "Blue Room" to your collection. This is approx. 16" x 20" print that is originally signed by the artist, Edward Lehman, and is numbered in pencil. These prints were limited to 1000. Mint condition! Keep in mind that the 1962 and 1963 prints were not originally signed pieces, and were not numbered on the prints. Also there were over twice as many of them printed as there was of the Blue Room. So this is quite a collectible piece! (Note: Of course the number will be different from the one in the photo as well as the signature because each one is original and varies. Be assured each print is one of the original 1000 signed and numbered by Mr. Edward Lehman). Don't miss this opportunity to complete your Kennedy collection of gift prints. For serious collectors only! Paypal only is accepted and payment should be made within 24 hours of winning bid. Print will be shipped Priority Mail rolled in archival tissue unless you desire it another way and you must contact me previous to placing a bid so we can agree on shipping arrangements. Please note the shipping and handling cost. Shipping costs will only change if you desire a different method of shipping. This print has been stored flat and in an archival folder.
