Description
This is a highly sought-after collectable radio. It was the first FM table radio manufactured by KLH in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the 1950s. Featuring vacuum tube circuitry it is a real antique. All tubes have been removed and tested good. Even fifty years later it still sounds great! This item includes both the radio and the ultra-rare KLH external speaker designed by the legendary Henry Kloss. I have seen several Model 8s here on eBay but none have had the accompanying loudspeaker. It's odd because the radio has no internal speaker and every Model 8 sold came with the external speaker. I wonder what happened to all those Model 8 speakers...... This one's in very clean condition inside and out. The wood finish of the radio and speaker cabinets is rated at VG. It's quite acceptable as-is or could look truly wonderful if it were refinished. Packing, Shipping and Insurance: Within the United States: Please allow a maximum of $35.00 for basic ground service. The closer you are to my location the less the shipping will cost. Exact packing and shipping costs are dependent on many factors such as your ZIP Code and the insured value of the shipment. These can only be determined after the auction ends. All shipments over $50.00 MUST be insured. The cost of shipping has increased dramatically of late and I try to be reasonable. Expedited service is available at additional cost. Considering placing a bid?   Please read my Terms and Conditions of Sale!  Placing a bid indicates to me that bidders have read, understand and agree to comply with them.   Payment may be made through PayPal, Postal Money Order, Bank Draft or Wire Transfer.   PLEASE DO NOT SEND PAYMENT PRIOR TO RECEIVING MY INVOICE.  I have been buying and selling on eBay since 1997 and it has always been my goal for both parties to have an uneventful and satisfactory transaction.   Thank you for your interest in my auction.
