Description
My Father, Carroll Basil, is a native of Clarksville, Indiana and a former retired County Deputy Sheriff. He has been an avid treasure hunter since he was a boy searching the back hills of Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois. During his tenyor, he expanded his enclave for treasure hunting into other parts of the West. Since his youth, Carroll developed a deep fascination for the plethora of forgotten treasures of the famous outlaws of the west. Thousands of dollars in gold and silver coins along with untold personal items were stolen by the Dalton’s, Jessie James and the Younger’s to name a few. He became a friend of Ethel Rose Owens James. She is the Granddaughter Of Jesse James. Their talks were by phone, although he did meet her one time. She gave him items that belonged to her grandfather at one time. Amoung them is a Black Scarf. This is the quote from one of the letters, "The large black ribbon was the one that Dad's sister Aunt Mary Barr wore in some pictures taken at the church and so forth after her Father was killed".  A original picture of Jesse James son Jesse E. James and his friend John Samuels with writing on the back. A number of letters with the envelops of conversations between Mrs. Ethel Rose Owens James and my father. A number of silk ribbons associated with residents of Clay County or people with an association to the James Family. One ribbon is dated March 22, 1908 and it is likely all of the ribbons date to about that time period. I have more information on these ribbons if you need.   This is One of a Kind Historical Memorbilia of Jesse James and Family. Please , only serious bidders.  I will pay for shipping and insurance in the United States.
