Description
DESCRIPTION:    These are 15 images that were taken in November 1968 by a Kent Stater student staff photographer. 13 of these images are part of a photography display that was entered by the student photographer in 1969 and he won 2nd place in Ohio. One image is an original photo he took of a young man with his head bowed and USA on his back in April of 1968 during a March for Martin Luthur King. The other photo in this group that wasnt part of his original entries is the photo of the photographers. He had 15 entries originally in the compitition but I only have 13 of them. The people photographed include Mr. and Mrs Humphrey and Mrs. Muskie when they were campagning in Akron. The protest photos on cardboard include school officials and Akron police , SDS members , regular students, Black United Students  and possibly some Panther Party members. They were protesting recruiters from the Oakland Police Dept. This was one of the eariest protests , if not the earliest noted protest in the 1960's at Kent State. Events and protests that followed led up to the shootings there in 1970. A friend and I had purchased these photos from the Estate of the student photographer who had put them up for Auction in 2005. The photos had been stored at the friends until last summer when I purchased his half and own the entire group. Unfortunatly the friend is a smoker and the photos do have a cigarette smell that has faded some since i have recieved them but is still evident but I am sure there is a way to remedy that problem. These are not Newspaper clippings . These are original Historically important 1960's Kent State Memoriabilia with the photographers name and subject matter written on the back in his hand. I also have copies of the Kent Stater and his Resumes from the 1960's. . The smallest item in the group is the USA photo which is about 8 by 10. The photos on board are all around 9 1/2  by 13 to 10 by 13 inches. These are Museum quality images of important events in American protest history.  This would make a great addition to the Kent State University collection . We will consider reasonable offers on this Archive. SCANNED IMAGES & PHOTOS ARE LARGER OR SMALLER THAN ORIGINAL ITEM!!!!   SHIPPING:  We do combine shipping.
