First time for sale in over a decade! I purchased this sign from a well known collecter on the east coast over a decade ago. THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. This ORIGINAL SIGN dates to the late 1800's. This is the coveted round (single sided) 36" porcelain over pig iron bubble sign that Heinz vendors would affix to the side of their horse drawn wagons as they hawked their wares on the streets of our country in the days prior to delivery trucks or supermarkets. This is the SAME SIGN as shown on page 158 of Amistadi's Antique Advertising (Volume 1) dated 2005. The value in his book at time of publication varies between 5,000.00 and 9,000.00 dollars. It shows exceptionally well for its age. My reserve is lower than the 5,000.00 as listed in his book. As far as it is known this is one of probably less than three or four in the world. There was some professional restoration that was performed on the sign prior to my purchase (and was done prior to photo in Amistadi's book as well). I have shown these areas in the listed photos.
