The sturdy seventeen pound artwork is cleverly composed of the radiator shell of a rare Silver Dawn, with the kneeling lady mascot affixed. That structure is bonded to a Silver Cloud bumper guard, which is mounted onto a blond mahogany base, bearing the inscription "Arthur G. Rippey". Mr. Rippey (deceased) was the founder of the Veteran Car Museum in Denver, Colorado and renown for his formidable collection of rare classic cars. The lamp's dimensions are 20" tall by 21 3/4" wide; it is equipped with a six-foot electric cord having a off-on switch which hides in the recess at back of bumper guard where it meets the base. We have owned this remarkable Rolls memorial for twenty-five years, receiving scores of compliments from appreciative admirers. I once declined the invitation to sell the piece to a fellow who had intentions to dismantle it in order to use the grill cap on his Silver Dawn! That would be disrespectful, to say the least, although this may be an instance where the parts are intrinsically worth more than the sum!
