State-of-the-art processes used, only the finest materials, made by the highest skilled craftsmen with decades of experience, the finest military sword for your needs, when nothing but the best will do.   Each and every sword is manufactured according to exacting government specifications.  All sword & sabre blades are high polished government spec, detailed and appropriately etched according to regulation for current military use. The finely fitted leather scabbard feature the best materials. Folding Guard:  is of a regulation hilt, made from brass Gold plated and polished to a mirror shine. Ricasso: reverse is marked with the * Star of Damascus Proof Mark * a world standard symbol of sword excellence, and shows it is a genuine sword. Grip: is rare genuine White Ray Skin covered. Fuller (Blade): is a Hand-Forged hardened to 48-52 HRC Rockwell well-tempered and hand polished, the etching is so deep, that you can feel it with your fingernail, it incorporates the current royal cypher of the current sovereign. Scabbard: is regulation Black Leather covered Gold plated metal fittings,  and comes with sword protective Cloth Bag. Length:  overall is 37 3/4" or 960.mm - with a 30 3/4 or 780.mm blade. Condition Brand New: This Sword is BRAND NEW - MINT CONDITION this means, this sword is delivered in an un-opened manufacturers box, shipped in a special protective box with inserts to secure the sword whilst in transit,  and will be delivered still wrapped in protective paper. Original Wilkinson Machinery Used: The British Wilkinson company was the official supplier to the MoD, but sadly it closed it's sword manufacturing side of it's operations in 2005, and in the process it sold it's heavy and light machinery, this swords blade was forged by expert craftsmen using old original Wilkinson equipment, giving this sword the highest quality superior finish possible, and thus keeping with the finest of British Sword manufacturing traditions, to the very same fine standards expected by the British and Australian Armed Forces. Maintenance of your new Sword: Avoid touching the blade with your fingers, however, if you do, then wipe the blade clean after use, store in it's scabbard, apply a thin film of protective oil, such as good non acidic gun oil. History: The first British Royal Navy pattern sword was created in early 1805, an elegant but yet an impractical design which was superseded by a solid hilt design developed in 1827.  Then in 1846 a blade designed by the world famous Wilkinson Sword Company was standardised for all ranks. The current light, single-edged straight blade was adopted in late 1929 and is now carried by all British RN & Australian RAN Commissioned Officers. Today’s regulation Navy Sword features a gold-plated brass hilt, white fish-skin grip and a brass pommel in the form of a lion.
