Less than a week after the event  the newspaper was in the public's hands. This engraving has been superbly handcolored and matted in medium blue with a gold trim molding around the picture.  The frame is a stone washed blue-gray. They are framed with a protective covering of glass. The top of the page is visible which has the date, the name Harpers Weekly and the page number.  The title of the picture is printed under the illustration along with the artists' names and a page reference number to the accompanying story.   The work is also signed by the artists in the lower left corner of the newspaper page.  The value to collectors is two fold:  an historically acurate record and exquisitely engraved work of art.
