This is a photo of my aunt's husband's father, Lieutenant Galloy of Senlis, France. He died on the battlefield defending France from the Germans in 1915. This photo was taken in his uniform during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870. In this photo he is wearing two medals that I have on auction right now. I am not an expert at photography, so I looked up types of photograpy during 1870's which said TINTYPES/ AMBROTYPES/ CDV'S. I do not know which one this is. It looks touched up, almost like with a charcoal pencile( once again, not an expert) I have added close-up photos of areas that look touched up. I have quite a few items from that time which include swords, photos, leather riding pieces and medals that my aunt kept. She is no longer with us and I just do not have room.
