The view is filled with spray from various hoses. Nicely titled in period manuscript "Hydraulic Mining. Foothills of Sierra Nevadas." Although published on an early yellow mount without printed title, this is "1820. Malakoff Diggings. North Bloomfield. Nevada County. Watkins Pacific Coast. San Francisco, California."
