Description
RARE FLOWN GEMINI 11 GOLD PLATED over STERLING FLITELINE MEDALLION. From the personal collection of Astronuat Joseph Kerwin. Flown on Gemini 11 September 12, 1966 through September 15, 1966 with Command Pilot, Charles Conrad Jr. and Pilot Richard F. Gordon Jr. On the Gemini 11 crew insigina, stars are used to mark the major milestones of the mission. The first orbit Agena rendezvous is marked by a star just above the earth, to the left. The Agena docking is marked by a star on the left. The star at the top marks the record high apogee (1,374 km) reached by Gemini 11. Finally the star on right marks Dick Gordon's spacewalk. The docking, record apogee and spacewalk are also shown on the medallion by the Agena, orbital apogee path and spacewalking astronaut. Medallion is in excellent condition having some minor tiny spots of discoloration and toning from age. I have chosen not to clean it although the new owner could easily clean/polish it if they prefer. Comes with COA signed by Joseph Kerwin. Ready to add to a great collection!
