Description
This  Rare Edison Amberola 1A is in excellent condition. It is the herzog cabinet with the Pooley "rococo" grille. It plays beautifully, both 2 minute and 4 minute cylinders. The sound is loud and crisp. The automatic turn off mechanism works perfectly. The top, interior grills are in perfect condition. The Pooley grille is in great condition. The cabinet finish is dark and very attractive. Overall the machine is in very good condition. Has the double dolphin key. The only flaw is the chipping of the paint on the bedplate near the back controls. Fortunately they are in the area that is not seen that much. Will arrange for whatever shipping arrangements are best for the buyer. I put shipping cost at $175.00 just to estimate a ballpark figure. Pease ask any questions, want to make sure all descriptions are as accurate as possible. good luck bidding. On Dec-02-08 at 05:55:52 PST, seller added the following information:Inside Horn is in good condition, there are three small flaws, two near the top, looks like nicks from above the horn, nothing that really deters from the condition of the horn. It is wood appearance but more of a paper nache composition. From what i can tell, the M reproducer is origib=nal and complete. There is not an Amberola A reproducer with this machine. Serial number on back plate is 1322, Type SM, model A. There is also a small brass plate on the bedplate that has a number 1671. Our research discovered that these numbers may not match once they moved to the Pooley cabinets. The Bedplate paint chipping is mainly located in the back around the speed control knobs, but there are two more paint chips in the very front left corner on the edge and very near the edge, both about the size of a pea.
