Description
Up for grabs is an E.H. Scott All Wave 12 Two dialer tube radio. Parts in the radio are dated March, 1932. This particular model was made by Scott from app. early 1931 to mid 1932. This is a show winner radio-First place at the Colorado Radio Collector's club in Denver, CO, March, 2007. Blue ribbon INCLUDED. The cabinet is an early Tasman. The speaker is a 10" Scott-branded electrodynamic. There's a complete set of plug-in coils. The chassis are in above-average shape for a classic Scott. Not perfect, but very good. All tube shields are present. Tubes are all good. I have had this working briefly on AM broadcast. New electrolytic caps were installed under the chassis to retain the original look. The speaker has had a 2.5" tear repaired poorly. You can probably correct this if you have any radio restoration skills. Knobs are not original, but a close match. The dials are good. Sorry for the dated photo of the power chassis. It has been cleaned and polished since that picture was taken. A nice added touch is a 3-ring binder with some Scott original documentation, photo-copies of other documentation, and the original owner's radio log of stations he received. The cabinet is in fair-to-good shape. It could use a pro refinish to make it look great. There's no major damage or rot, and no veneer loss. The grill cloth is a modern replacement. If your are an E. H. Scott collector, this is a must-have variation. You will need to do little restoration (unless you are a perfectionist!). I am thinning out my collection of tube radios to clear out some clutter. If there are other pictures you need, just ask. However, I will not disassemble the chassis. Sold as-is, buyer MUST arrange and pay for shipping and packing. I can drop it off somewhere for you so it can be packed/crated to your specifications at your expense. Shipping is NOT free (Ebay bug). You can also view this treasure in my home in Denver Metro by appointment. If you are skiing in the Denver area before Christmas, I can hold it til then for you (must be paid for. I have adequate home insurance). This is a fixed price auction, I will consider reasonable offers. I added pictures of the extra tuner. The coil has a 4-position switch. The other knob is a tuning condenser. Appears to be Scott item. Maybe a Scott expert will know what it is. I forgot to mention that 3 of the type 27 tubes are Arcturus blue 127s.
