Only the number of cels that were ordered by the employees were ever made. This was a limited edition of only 96 ordered hand-painted character cell set-ups from Walt Disney's full-length feature film Hercules (1997). It is one of a series of only fourteen selected limited edition hand painted recreations of original artwork created especially for Feature Animation employees only who worked on the Hercules production. Disney artists created the artwork from Hercules using traditional animation techniques. The original animation drawings were transferred to acetate cels by a special six-step xerographic process by the Walt Disney Studios Ink & Paint Department. Artisis of the Walt Disney Studios Ink & Paint Department then enhance the cels with hand-inked lines and then each is hand painted by them with Disney-approved acrylic colors. The background scene for this cel has been faithfully reproduced from the original production background.
