Description ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING  by Carl Barks (1901 – 2000).   16 x 20 inches on Canvas.  Although Carl painted 17 Money Bins between 1971 and 1976, by far his MOST POPULAR paintings were reproductions of his DONALD DUCK comic book covers, which he did 30 times!  This auction offers one of Carl’s rarest oils for bid, but all bidders must be pre-approved by the Seller, and the item is subject to prior sale.            “Old Castle’s Secret”  (24-71)  re-creates the cover of 4C #189, the very FIRST  Barks story to star Uncle Scrooge  (Scrooge was only a supporting character  in 4C  #178 “Christmas on Bear Mountain”). This was the ONLY version Carl painted of this historic cover that was exactly like the 1948 cover, which was the VERY FIRST  comic book COVER that Carl Barks ever did  (pre-dating WDC+S #95 by 3 months).
