This record player has two valves UF89 (preamp) UL84(output)for it's amplifier when most record players of the period have just one output valve which meant they struggled to have enough output power and were disappointing in sound quality.Another benefit this record player has over many is the large elliptical speaker which delivers excellent bass without distortion.This record player has been comprehensively serviced and is now in superb condition,to start with the amplifier has been completely rebuilt (MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REBUILDING JUKEBOXES,OLD RADIOS AND HI-FI) replacing all the old capacitors and resistors  also the valves have been tested on my AVO valve tester and are in superb condition and will last many years.As a result of having a fully rebuilt amplifier, the sound quality and sheer power is outstanding, I only could turn it up half way before it started to hurt my ears with it's power! it has more than enough power in reserve to keep most people happy!.This record player would be absolutely perfect for someone who has a collection of Rock'n'Roll 78rpm records as it loves them, I have played many valuable Rock'n'Roll records without any fear of damage on this player,of course it plays all the other record formats perfectly too and will not harm your records.As well as the amplifier being rebuilt the record autochanger mechanism has been fully serviced and now works perfectly and has the ability to stack up to 8 records on autoplay at any one time,also a new cartridge has been fitted along with a new stylus for the best possible sound quality.The cabinet  is now in stunning condition with no nasty rips,or signs of wear,it really is as good as it looks!,The high quality Garrard record deck is in perfect condition with everything as new,the turntable rubber mat is still very soft and shows no signs of perishing.This record player can play the following record formats..16, 33, 45, 78 rpm.                                                                                                                     To conclude: A superb HMV from the Rock'n'Roll era,they don't come better than this!.Please check out my outstanding 100% positive record player buyer feedback.Postal service only no collection.All record players are extremely well packed to avoid damage in transit.A one year parts and labour guarantee comes with this record playernobody else offers this!All record players are sent recorded/signed for.
