My information says these cards were printed in 1950, but not sent until 1951. First card - Top - "Typical abodes of the large Siouan tribe of Indians. The Assiniboin (He cooks by roasting; one who cooks by the use of stones, Jones). This photograph was taken in northern Montana Territory in 1880 by F. J. Haynes." Bottom - "This 1884 photograph by F. J. Haynes shows part of the quarter-mile strech of Main road in Yellowstone National Park in the bed of the Gibbon River near Beryl Spring." Second card - Top - "Z. R. Sowash's Round Prairie Hotel photographed in 1884 by F. J. Haynes near the Cooke City road and Soda Butte was once thought to be outside the park, but in 1886 it was found to be 3 miles inside the Park and in 1887 was removed." Bottom - "The blockhouse of Fort Lincoln, Dakota Territory, built for military protection against hostile Indians was photographed by F. J. Haynes in 1877, the year following the Custer massacre."
