Description
Beautiful early Waloon style sword dating from around mid 1600s, being mounted with a fine quality double edged blade made by famous Andrea Ferara and marked to the maker inside the fullers on both sides. The blade has been polished in the past and now showing nice smooth surface with occasional scattered pitting and inside of the fullers untouched, very sturdy and very thrust-worthy as well as effective for much devastating slashing blows. Mounted with a fine quality iron hilt with kidney shape pierced guard and elaborately formed D-guard, large fluted pommel and still wire grip, all solid and in fantastic condition for its extensive age.   OA  38". Blade  32".
