A) Eight signed, typed letters (some of which on 'Leonardo Sciascia' headed paper) addressed to a Finnish publisher. These papers date back to the years between 1984 and 1987, during which Sciascia gradually reached an agreement with his correspondent to publish a limited edition of his book of novels Il mare colore del vino, as mentioned in one of the letters: 'Per perfezionare la pubblicazione dei racconti in tiratura limitata e numerate, bisogna che Lei scriva al dr. Giulio Bollati, Einaudi editore [...]e che per sua parte La autorizzi, come già io per mia parte ho fatto'. In other letters, Sciascia expressed his gratitude for having received a few books, including a volume by Graham Green (Yes and No) with dedication and a book about the Finnish engraver Pentti Kaskipuro. Sciascia admired this artist's works to the point that he suggested the possibility of setting up a solo exhibition: '... Amo molto la grafica e da anni mi diletto a raccoglierne, acqueforti particolarmente [...]. Mi dispiace che un artista così interessante sia così poco conosciuto, e in Italia addirittura ignorato. Non gli si potrebbe organizzare una mostra? Qui a Palermo non sarebbe difficile'. Also include are posted covers, some of which bear the sender's autograph address on the verso. B) Signed autograph letter dispatched from 'Racalmuto, 12 luglio 1984' and signed autograph card dated '23 dicembre 1967' with the citation of a few verses of a poem by Antonio Machado. Bompiani, Milano 1987 (222 pages, 8vo oblong) accompanying the homonym exhibition held in Torino, Mole Antonelliana, from 9 April to 28 June 1987, with autograph dedication to Graham Green; and lastly the front page of the 'Corriere della Sera' newspaper dated 21 November 1989 with an article reporting that Leonardo Sciascia had died the day before.
